Also known as this week has been bananas busy and the recipe post I planned turned out not great, so instead here’s some stuff that I enjoy & think you might too.
Bath Stuff
Along with the insufferable cold temperatures, I always dread winter because of the gross dry skin that comes along with it. Thanks to the pretty pink Shea Moisture soap I found on clearance at CVS and the Dr. Carver’s Shave Butter I got through Dollar Shave Club (also, Dollar Shave Club! Try it! I love it.) the skin thing actually hasn’t been too bad this year. And, of course, if you’re looking for great bath stuff, you can’t go wrong with going to lush.com and ordering anything from them.
A Good Read
Right after I finished Big Magic, I started reading Felicia Day’s You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost). As it turns out, they actually go kind of great together. While Big Magic was all about helping you find your creativity, Felicia Day is someone who has had to do just that. Her memoir is awesome and interesting. And now I want to binge watch The Guild.
Weird Mugs
I’m not sure when or why it started, but I’ve acquired quite the collection of animal kitchen utensils. I’ve ended up with a squirrel shaped rice paddle and fox salt and pepper shakers, but my favorites are my kind of creepy animal mugs. They make my mornings slightly more pleasant and anything that does that is a winner.
Even Weirder Pillows
More perplexing than the kitchen utensils is the group of weird pillow cases that appeared practically over night at our house. I blame Amazon Prime (which is also good stuff) for giving me way too easy access to these things. But they make me smile when I see them, so go ahead and add some whimsy to your life. Who knows, it might make you happier. Also, they’re super inexpensive which makes ordering any one of them that catches your eye completely possible.
New Tunes
Iggy Pop and Josh Homme together. So good. So, so good. Go listen immediately. Gardenia has automatically moved to the top of my current favorite song list. Now I’m just impatiently waiting for the rest of Post Pop Depression to come out. I also highly recommend the band The Struts. They’re really fun and have a Queen vibe happening, so, of course, I automatically love them.
Now back to the bananas busyness! Blerg.
