A week…

This past week has been, well… it’s been a week. It’s been a reminder of the highs and lows that life brings. It’s been a reminder that laughter can be found in the saddest of situations and sometimes sadness in the happiest of situations. It’s been a reminder that for good or bad we’re human and therefore, human things happen. But mostly it’s been a week where we had to say goodbye to a family member entirely too soon. (It was on my husband’s side of the family. Just in case I have a cousin panicking reading this and wondering what they haven’t been told.)

On the positive side, it’s also been a week that serves as a reminder that you let the people you love know it and do the things you want to with your life (this family member was a great example of someone who did just that) and I know I occasionally need that reminder. It’s entirely too easy to let life get in the way of life. The mundane happens and we let it block what could be the extraordinary.

So, here’s to another week of us all trying to figure out how to go about life. How to embrace the happiness more than the sadness. And how to make the most of your time here.

Side note: Part of me trying to embrace life this week was us going on to St. Louis for the Welcome to Night Vale live show and eating sriracha popcorn shrimp nachos for dinner on a school night. This was both a wonderful and horrible decision when it comes to living life to the fullest.
